SM重口 run a press office function during office hours where the team will be available to assist with media enquiries from journalists. Enquiries from the public or journalists/researchers looking for statistics about fires or other non-fire activity such as finance or personnel matters should submit a Freedom Of Information request to the Service.
Incidents
All incidents deemed by the team to be noteworthy or relevant to the public (for warning and informing purposes) can be found here (incidents). Should the incident be a protracted incident the team will update as and when there is more information. In certain circumstances press officers may attend incidents and will be able to facilitate interviews however where possible we will look to post any incidents on our twitter feed and website which journalists are welcome to share.
Press officers will be allowed to inform media if any of our appliances have attended an incident, time of call and how many fire engines are in attendance. We are not able to give out details such as specific location or house number, age and gender of casualties and vehicle details. In some instances we may not be able to answer your questions and will direct you to our colleagues at or instead. In most cases the information we add to our website is all the information we have/can tell you about an incident.
Out of Office Hours
We provide a press office function out of office hours for major incidents only however details of other incidents of note are published on our website and Twitter account.
Major Incidents
Details of major incidents will be published on the incident page of the website and social media accounts and will be updated regularly, as more information becomes available.
We ask people with drones at this time as this can impede our firefighting.
