Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP)

The Service consulted on its draft Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) 2022 鈥� 27 from 14 July to 21 September 2021.

We sought views on whether the plan identifies the greatest risks to the communities and people of Lancashire; identifying any unmet need; measures in place to mitigate and respond to risk; and the plan鈥檚 overarching aim and priorities.

We received 1,901 responses to the online survey. This included responses from Service employees; local authorities; emergency services and other public agencies; town and parish councils; third sector partners; businesses; representative bodies; landowners; community groups; and members of the public.

Overall, the consultation feedback endorsed the draft CRMP, the Service鈥檚 priorities and our approach to community risks in Lancashire.

Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs)

The Service consulted on its Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA) policy from 12 August to 21 September 2021.

We sought your views on our proposed improvements to SM重口鈥檚 automatic fire alarm attendance policy. These changes were proposed to help reduce the number of unnecessary callouts, saving time and resources.

We received 218 responses to the online survey. This included responses from Service employees; local authorities; emergency services and other public agencies; businesses; representative bodies; public representatives such as MPs and councillors, and residents of Lancashire.

Overall, the consultation feedback endorsed the proposed changes to the AFA policy and the alternative arrangements which would save resources without compromising on fire safety.

Emergency Cover Review (ECR)

The Service consulted on its proposed emergency cover review (ECR) 2022 from 22 July until 14 October 2022.

We undertook the ECR to ensure that our emergency response remains effective and efficient, and that we are well equipped to respond to future challenges. We sought views on whether our initial proposals would make the best possible use of our resources to provide the best possible services for the people of Lancashire. 听

1,224 people responded to the consultation: 928 local residents; 234 members of staff; and 62 stakeholders including town and parish councils, local authorities and neighbouring fire and rescue services.

Broadly speaking, the final proposals remained the same as those initially set out in the consultation. However, consultation feedback, uncertainty in government funding and national pay negotiations, and increasing inflation rates, led to some amendments.

The final proposals were agreed by Lancashire鈥檚 Combined Fire Authority on 19 December 2022. .
